Super Therm® Fabric stops the heat at the surface on fabrics, before it can penetrate inside!

Super Therm® Fabric is a water-borne combination of high-performance elastomeric acrylics, and resin additives which produces a flexible coating film.

Designed for application directly to fabric or coated onto thread prior to weaving, Super Therm® Fabric contains 4 unique ceramics to block up to 95% of Solar Heat entering a structure due to Visual Light, Ultra Violet (UV), and Infrared (IR).

Super Therm® Fabric is a flexible membrane with low permeability.

Super Therm® Fabric coating over tent materials (tarp fabrics)

Application of Super Therm® to the top side of tarp or tent fabrics will block the gain of heat into and through the fabric making the interior of the tents cooler. The level of temperature drop is dependent on the ambient temperature and sunlight. In some hot climates, the temperature reduction for the interior is more dramatic.

The ground or sand temperature is hot when the tent is erected and given time under the coated tent, this flooring temperature will reduce making the tent more comfortable. The reduction in temperature inside the tent would normally reduce between 10% - 20%.

The Super Therm® can flex and fold when the tent is folded and moved to be reestablished without lost of adhesion or cracking. Even though Super Therm® is tough and durable, it will flex.

Super Therm® applied over the fabric will add fire resistance and mildew resistance (wet climates). The fire resistance is important where cooking fires are established close to the tent opening. Super Therm® is a “0” flame spread and “0” smoke under flame spread testing. This will retard any fire development over the tent surface.

Application process would be as follows:

  • Tent must be erected and standing to be coated.
  • Tent must be clean and dry.
  • Application of the coatings to the tent surface must be by spraying to effectively cover the surface smoothly and achieve the correct thickness.
  • A platform can be erected next to the tent to spray the top.
  • If tent material is very dry, then the Super Base (HS) would be applied first as a primer at 100 – 150 sq.ft.(9 sq.meters) per gallon.
  • Allow the Super Base (HS) to dry for 4 hours before overcoating with the Super Therm®.
  • Super Therm® applied at 100 sq.ft. (9 sq.meters ) per gallon.
  • Allow to dry for a full two days in the sun before folding.
